Eagles get Passed Albright's One Hitter

Bangor, Maine – UMaine Farmington fell to Husson University today in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) by a score of 1-0 and 8-0 on O'Keefe Field.

Records

Farmington falls to 2-14 overall and 0-2 in conference play while the Eagles move to 16-8 overall and 2-0 in the NAC.

Game 1

Anastasia Albright threw 7.2 innings, giving up one hits and one run with five strikeouts. Alannah Healy was awarded the win while pitching eight innings, giving up two hits with one walk and eight strikeouts. The game was tied at 0 going into the eighth after Albright had a no hitter through 6.1 innings. In the bottom of the eighth, Sarah Bragg was placed on second base, Kylie Kennedy put down a SAC bunt to move Bragg over to third. Nicole Andrade filed out to right field but Bragg tagged on the play to give the Eagles the 1-0 win in eight innings.  

Game 2

Kailyn Hill started on the mound for the Beavers and threw four scoreless innings. The Eagles got on the board in the fifth when Tamara Aunchman singled through the left side to score Briana Brochu. Jen Jones was then hit by a pitch which scored Chloe Gorey.

Hill was tagged with giving up 13 hits, eight runs with six of them being earned. Arika Brochu threw six complete innings, giving up two hits with one walk and three strikeouts.

Husson scored again in the bottom of the sixth when Casey Heath doubled down the line to score.

 Nicole Andrade followed by Brochu singling down the line to score Caitlin Bean. Heath then scored on an error by the catcher. Olivia Smith singled to right to score Brochu. Smith then scored on a wild pitch.

Jen Jones scored on the next play after Nicole Andrade singled through the left side.

The Beavers will be back in action on Thursday when they head to Daniel Webster.
