JOHNSON, Vt. - University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country took second place at the North Atlantic Conference Championship on Saturday. The 8k race was held on the campus of Johnson State College.
Junior Robbie Hollis (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) was the top runner for the Beavers finishing fourth overall with a time of 26.59.8 and just one second from the third place finisher. Connor Wagner (Bangor, Maine/John Bapst) finished in 10th with a time of 28.07.5. Abdi Hassan (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) followed one place behind in 11th in a time of 28.15.5. Yussuf Adow (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) finished 23rd at 29.38.2 and Connor Marland (Wrentham, Mass/King Phillip) rounded out UMF's scoring in 39th with a time of 30.53.2.
Colby-Sawyer earned first place after scoring 25 points with five runners in the top eight.
UMaine-Farmington took Runner-up, as the Beavers turned in an 87, while Castleton University was third (88), Thomas was fourth (128), followed by Maine Maritime (141), Husson (150), Lyndon (161) UMaine-Presque Isle (178), New England College (193), Johnson State (312) and Green Mountain (333).
UMaine-Farmington will compete in the NCAA Regionals on Nov. 12th at Westfield State.
