Hollis, Beavers Take First at Runnin' Monks Invitational

STANDISH, Maine- University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country team captured the Runnin' Monks Invitational Championship for the second-consecutive season with 38 points in the 8k race on the Saint Joseph's course on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Robbie Hollis (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) won the event for the second year with a 28:07 performance.  Teammate Connor Wagner (Bangor, Maine/John Bapst) finished third overall at 28:36.

The Beavers would place two more runners in the top ten overall.  Yusuff Adow (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) finished in sixth and Abdi Hassan (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) raced in at 30:17 and a ninth place finish.  Connor Marland (Wrentham, Mass./King Philip) rounded out UMF's scorers with a solid 19th place finish.

The Beavers finished with 38 points.  Second place Thomas College finished 17 points back.

UMaine-Farmington will next run at the Maine State Invitational held at Saint Joesph's on Saturday.
