Eagles earn NAC victory over Beavers

BANGOR, Maine -- Husson University struck twice in the second half to get past the University of Maine at Farmington 2-1 in North Atlantic Conference men's soccer action tonight.

The Beavers (7-7 overall, 4-3 NAC) are scheduled to host Johnson State College in NAC action Saturday at 3:15 p.m. The Eagles continue to lead the NAC at 7-1 (9-6-1 overall).

Andrew Austin's unassisted tally with 4:47 to play was the game-winner as Husson bounced back from a 1-0 halftime deficit.

Joc Caldwell (Grafton, Mass.) scored off a Jordan Hale (Falmouth, Maine) feed 12:16 into the match to give UMF a 1-0 lead at halftime, but Philip Frost tied the game at 1-1 at 57:53.

Tennessee Peters (Scarborough, Maine) stopped eight shots for the Beavers, who were outshot 19-10 in the match. Husson took eight corner kicks to UMF's three.

Brian Potter made four saves for Husson.
