FARMINGTON, MAINE – UMaine Farmington Men's Basketball team clutched out the regular season and earned the number five seed in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) tournament. The Beavers will travel to Lyndonville, VT on Tuesday to face off against the number four seed Lyndon St. Hornets at 5:30 PM.
The Beavers finished off the year with an overall record of 11-14 and 10-8 in the NAC while the Hornets finished 11-13 overall and also 10-8 in conference play.
The first meeting was held at Lyndon on January 7th, where the Hornets slid past the Beavers with a final score of 72-69. Amir Moss was the game high scorer with 24 points on 10-14 shooting while Riley Robinson scored 22 points on 6-9 from the floor, 3-6 from behind the arc and 7-8 at the free throw line.
The Hornets leading scorer was Raymond Monroe with 23 points on 8-13 from the floor, 2-5 from three-point land and 5-7 at the charity stripe. Charles Correa Jr. finished with 15 points on 6-16 from the floor and 2-2 at the free throw line.
The second meeting was held at Dearborn Gymnasium on January 27th where the Beavers were award the victory behind Amir Moss who scored 15 points for the Beavers. Eric Berry scored 12 points off the bench on 6-9 from the floor while Tyus Ripley notched a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Riley Robinson scored 10 points on 3-10 from the floor with nine rebounds and four assists.
Xavier Colbert held the top spot with 20 points on 8-15 from the floor for the Hornets while Carles Correa Jr. finished with 15 points.
