AUBURN, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington golf team scored a 647 (325-322) to place eighth out of 10 teams at the Maine Intercollegiate Golf Championship hosted by Husson University this weekend at Martindale Country Club.
The Beavers entered Sunday in sixth place (325) and improved their score by three strokes, but fell back two spots. Husson University claimed the team title with a 591 (289-302), followed by Bates 630 (309-321), Colby 631 (323-308), and Bowdoin 635 (326-309).
Senior Trevor Hisler tied for 30th with a two-round total of 164 (83-81), while sophomore Matt Pelletier (85-84), and senior Michael Richard (85-85) each shot 169 and 170 respectfully to finish in the top 40 for the Beavers.
UMaine-Farmington returns to action on Sunday (11:00 a.m) at the Thomas College Invitational.
