Brickley Leads Golf To Best Finish at Bowdoin Invitational

BRUNSWICK. Me – Senior Gavin Brickley tied for the 3rd best score out of 55 players, leading the University of Maine at Farmington men's golf team to a sixth place finish out of the 11 teams at the two-day Bowdoin Invitational.

The Beavers shot a solid 641 for the two-day score, shooting a 324 on Saturday and 317 on Sunday.  UMF jumped from seventh to sixth on Sunday, passing Bates (649).  St. Anselm won the event with a 603, followed by Endicott (625), Nichols (636), USM (637), and Providence (639).

Brickley fired a 75 on Sunday after scoring a 79 on Saturday for the team-best 154 total, just 10 strokes behind top scorer Stephen Hunt (St. Anselm, 144). 

Junior Eric Aguiar finished tied for ninth with a 157 after shooting a 77 on Sunday.  Trevor Hisler (167) finished in 34th and Mike Richards was one stroke behind with a 168.

UMaine-Farmington will next host the UMF Invitational on Wednesday at the Waterville Country Club.
