Matt Campbell joined the UMF athletic staff in October 2012 as an assistant athletic trainer, working with head athletic trainer Karin Krzal to serve the injury prevention and rehabilitation needs of UMaine-Farmington’s approximately 250 student-athletes. 

Campbell came to UMaine-Farmington from Somerset, Pa., where he worked for Somerset Hospital Wellness and Rehabilitation and was the head athletic trainer at Rockwood Area High School since June 2011. In this capacity, he was responsible for the injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for all Rockwood student-athletes, as well as providing fitness evaluations and creating fitness plans, and performance enhancement training.

Campbell received his Master of Science in athletic training from California University of Pennsylvania in May 2011, and completed his graduate practicum at California (Pa.) High School. A 2010 graduate of the University of Maine at Presque Isle, he earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training.
