UMF student-athletes named NAC All-Academic

FARMINGTON, Maine -- Nine University of Maine at Farmington winter and spring student-athletes were named to the North Atlantic Conference All-Academic Team as announced by the NAC this afternoon.

Senior women's lacrosse student-athletes Amie Daniels (Lewiston, Maine), Abbey Gilbert (Wilton, Maine), Emma Morrison (Saco, Maine) and juniors Emma Daniel (Acton, Mass.) and Nateasha Ouellette (Lewiston, Maine) headlined UMF's NAC All-Academic Team honorees. Daniel (field hockey) and Gilbert (women's soccer) were also honored in the fall, while Morrison was also feted for her efforts in women's basketball.

Other UMF recipients of NAC All-Academic distinction included senior men's basketball player Dan Kane (Bradford, Maine), juniors baseball student-athlete Casey Ashey (Searsport, Maine), women's basketball student-athlete Kelsey Graffam (Falmouth, Maine) and softball student-athlete Anna Piggott (Manchester, Conn.).

Fifty-nine student-athletes from NAC member institutions who participated in a fall conference sport receive recognition. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached junior academic standing, have competed a minimum two years of varsity competition at their institution with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50.
