Beaver Social caps athletic, academic year

UMF student-athletes brought canned goods for the Care and Share Food Cupboard to Monday's night BYOP Beaver Social.

The third annual BYOP (Bring Your Own Pride) Beaver Social was held Monday night in the North Dining Hall as varsity student-athletes and coaches came together for a final gathering for the 2007-08 athletic and academic school year.

It was a night of celebration and appreciation for everyone’s efforts in developing the whole student-athlete and teaching life skills through sport at Farmington. Special attention was given to recognizing sportsmanship honors and team participation in community service through out the year. Individuals were recognized for their leadership and academic achievements. Well wishes were extended to the graduating seniors. Story

Softball loses to Lesley in NAC title game

The University of Maine at Farmington softball team lost 6-1 to Lesley University in the North Atlantic Conference title game today at Husson College.

The Beavers finished their season at 24-9. The Lynx improved to 30-10 and receive the NAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championships. For the tournament recap, visit www.nacathletics.com/sports/sball/championship/2008.

Lauren Overlock (Belfast, ME), Sarah Defilipp (Brewer, ME) and McKell Barnes (Durham, ME) received NAC All-Tournament honors, but Farmington was unable to stop the Lynx. Lesley defeated the Beavers 5-2 on Saturday to force today's if-necessary game Story

Softball falls, Lesley forces if-necessary game

The University of Maine at Farmington softball team was hit with its first loss of the North Atlantic Conference Championship Round today as the Beavers fell 5-2 to Lesley University at Husson College. Story

Softball advances to NAC title game

The University of Maine at Farmington softball team downed Husson College 3-2 and Lesley University 3-2 in Bangor today to advance to the North Atlantic Conference title game. Story
