Top 10 Moments of 2016-17: #10 Men's Basketball Makes the Playoffs

The Men's Basketball team was back in the playoffs this year after being picked 10th in the conference preseason polls.

The Beavers started 2-3 in the conference but hit their stride in late January when they won five conference games in a row against New England College, Colby Sawyer, Lyndon State, Johnson State, and Green Mountain. This winning streak put the Beavers at 7-3 in the conference tying them for 2nd place.

After losses to Castleton and Colby Sawyer they responded with two big wins against New England College and Maine Maritime. A successful season ended with a loss in the playoffs at Lyndon State, but the Beavers have a bright future.

Three freshmen led the team in scoring Amir Moss (14.8ppg), Riley Robinson (13.1ppg), and Issac Witham (12.0ppg). Robinson also led the team in assists (2.9) and rebounds (6.5).

Three separate Beavers were named rookies of the week Robinson, Moss, and Tyus Ripley. Coach Dick Meader was named Coach of the Year after leading the team to the playoffs.
