A total of 152 student-athletes have been named to the 2016-17 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Winter/Spring All-Academic Team after the spring 2017 semester with 21 of them from the University of Maine at Farmington.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field led all UMF teams with five student athletes. Hannah Emery, Bridget Humphrey, Sarah Jenkins, Laura Pulito and Kaitlyn Virgin.
The NAC All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes on varsity sports teams who have earned a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Student-athletes must also have reached sophomore academic standing and competed in a minimum of two years of varsity competition at their institution.

Of note, all nine seniors who were recognized as the Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year in their respective sport were also honored on the All-Academic Team. Those selections include men's outdoor track and field student-athlete Sean Cabaniss.
The academic team also consisted of 26 Sportsmanship Team honorees. The NAC Sportsmanship Team is reserved for those who positively affected the culture and environment of their sport and whose behavior clearly demonstrated sportsmanship and integrity that went beyond the playing rules and etiquette.
