CUMBERLAND --The University of Maine at Farmington women's cross country team finished its season with a 23rd-place finish at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships at Twin Brook Recreational Area today.
MIT and Middlebury College tied at the top with 63 points each followed by Williams College (99), Amherst College (116) and Wesleyan (159). The Beavers totaled 734 points in the 47-team field.
Molly Carl (York, ME) led the Beavers in 109th with a time of 24:38.1 on the 5K course. Emily Farley (Bernard, ME) at 116th in 24:50.5, Caitlin Miller (Pepperell, MA) at 131st at 25:05.4, Salena Sykes (Island Pond, VT) at 182nd in 26:02.3 and Meaghan Champagne (Littleton, NH) at 196th at 26:13.7 completed Farmington's scoring.
MIT's Jacqui Wentz was the overall winner at 21:35.7.
