Laflin named to NEWBA Honor Roll
SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- University of Maine at Farmington junior forward Caitlyn Laflin (Farmingdale, ME) was announced today as a member of the New England Women's Basketball Association Honor Roll for her efforts last week.
Laflin led the Beavers to a pair of North Atlantic Conference road wins this week with 20 points, nine rebounds and four steals in a 59-56 victory at Maine Maritime Academy and 31 points and 14 boards in an 82-70 decision at Thomas. During the week, Laflin averaged 25.5 points and 11.5 rebounds while converting 16 of 35 field goals and 17 of 18 free throws.
On Monday, Laflin was honored as the NAC Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Bates College's Val Beckwith was named the NEWBA Player of the Week.
The Beavers (5-8 overall, 3-0 in the NAC) are scheduled to visit Husson University tonight with the women's game at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men's.
