Ross named MWBCA Rookie of the Week

FARMINGTON -- University of Maine at Farmington freshman guard Jillian Ross (Belfast, ME) was honored as the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association Rookie of the Week as announced today.

Ross scored 14 points in a 78-67 win over Lesley on Saturday and tallied 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds in a 70-28 victory over Bay Path on Sunday. Ross also threw in 15 points in a 65-40 loss at Maine Maritime Academy on Tuesday.

Ross shot 9-17 (53 percent) from the floor and was 17-18 (94 percent) from the free throw line in Farmington's 2-1 week. She also shot 4-8 (50 percent) from beyond the arc during the three games.

This is the first time this season that Ross has been honored by the MWBCA.
