2000-2001
Season Review
Despite
having only nine players, the team finished the season with a respectable
12-13 season and played in its eighth consecutive Maine Athletic
Conference Final Four. Playing
a difficult schedule with eight of its opponents earning bids to national
and regional postseason play, the players made huge improvements
throughout the season but could not get by Husson College in the playoffs.
The season was highlighted by a 66-65 victory at St. Joseph’s College,
being only one of two teams from the state to beat the Monks.
Also, when the team needed a conference victory at UMaine-Presque
Isle to secure a home playoff game, the team played its best half of
basketball, outscoring the Owls 42-19 in the second half to erase a
halftime deficit.
