FARMINGTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's volleyball tripped up the University of Southern Maine 3-0 (25-9, 25-21, 25-11) in non-conference action tonight at Dearborn Gymnasium.
The Beavers (8-7) are scheduled to travel to Maine Maritime Academy Saturday to face the host Mariners at 12:30 p.m. and Husson University at 3:30 p.m. in North Atlantic Conference play. The Huskies (2-11) are scheduled to visit Newbury College Saturday at 11 a.m.
Shannon Mitchell (Portsmouth, NH) headed a balanced attack for the Beavers with nine kills followed by Amanda Mullane (Melrose, MA) with eight kills and Emily Beebe (South Paris, ME) and Jenna Rowan (Kittery, ME) with seven kills each. A senior playing in her final regular-season home game, Caitlin Flaherty (Plymouth, MA) led Farmington with game-highs of 18 digs and six service aces.
Danielle Netland (Cumberland, ME) paced the Huskies with seven kills with Samantha Ellis (Westerly, RI) and Jordan Driscoll (Yarmouth, ME) each getting eight digs.
