Mitchell, Rowan earn All-NAC Second Team honors

FARMINGTON -- University of Maine at Farmington sophomore middle blocker Shannon Mitchell (Portsmouth, NH) and junior outside hitter Jenna Rowan (Kittery, ME) received All-North Atlantic Conference Second Team honors as announced by the conference today.

NAC all-conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches.

An All-NAC Second Teamer in 2008, Mitchell was the team leader in total blocks (47), second for kills (137) and third in digs (145).

Rowan -- a two-time All-Second Team honoree -- led the team in kills (147) and was second in digs (166).

Maine Maritime Academy's Chelsea Ward was named the NAC Player of the Year, while Castleton State College's Ashley Kepaa was named the NAC Rookie of the Year. MMA's Katrina Dagan was honored as NAC Coach of the Year.

Farmington (10-10) is scheduled to visit Maine Maritime Academy Saturday for a NAC semifinal match at 10 a.m.
