The University of Maine at Farmington women's volleyball team fell to Bates College 3-0 (25-22, 25-9, 25-11) tonight at the Colby Invitational.

The Beavers (0-2) are scheduled to return to the Colby Invitational Saturday with matches against Maine Maritime Academy (11 a.m.) and Colby (3 p.m.) The match was the season opener for the Bobcats.

Shannon Mitchell (Portsmouth, NH) led Farmington with six kills, five assists, eight digs and nine total blocks (three solo, six assists).
Jenna Rowan (Kittery, ME) chipped in with a pair of kills, five assists, five digs and two block assists.
