Women's volleyball falls in opener
BANGOR -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision (30-22, 30-22, 30-23) at Husson College in its season opener on Wednesday.
The Beavers dropped to 0-1 and are scheduled to compete at the Colby Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Eagles improved 1-2.
Danielle O'Brien (Calais, ME) and Jenna Rowan (Kittery, ME) each notched six kills in the loss with Meagan Dube (Lewiston, ME) supplying five kills. Rowan also recorded five serving aces with Jessica Whittaker (Calais, ME) leading the team with eight digs and Katie Allen (Bucksport, ME) registering 11 assists.
