Boardman receives NAC rookie honor

FARMINGTON -- Freshman Amy Boardman (York, ME) was named the North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week for women's volleyball as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Boardman helped UMF to a 4-1 week, accumulating 78 digs in five games. Boardman, who also served up 17 aces during the week, had an eight-kill, 21-dig effort in a 3-2 loss to Husson and 22 digs in a 3-2 win over Salem State.

For the season, Boardman has 82 kills, a team-high 173 digs and 42 service aces.

The Beavers (9-10 overall, 3-3 in the NAC) are scheduled to visit the University of New England on Saturday. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m.
