Men's soccer slides past Machias

FARMINGTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington men's soccer team scored three times in the second half as the Beavers dispatched the University of Maine at Machias 3-1 in non-conference action this afternoon at Prescott Field.

The Beavers (3-0) are scheduled to visit Endicott College Tuesday, while the Clippers (0-2) are slated to visit Thomas College Sunday..

After Machias held a 1-0 edge on a Josh Gurwicz (Shelburne, VT) goal in the first half, Farmington responded with the tying score 10:30 into the second half on a Ryan Pelletier (Orrington, ME) goal. Dillon Clark (Old Town, ME) netted the game-winner at 66:44 and Sean Raph (Fairfield, ME) followed with an insurance marker on a pretty pass from Jake Constantine (Woodland, NJ) for the 3-1 win..

Paul Dupre (Rehoboth, MA) made six saves in the victory. The Beavers held a 16-12 advantage in shots.

Kyle Lancaster (Richmond, ME) stopped five shots for the Clippers..
