Men's soccer in scoreless stalemate

Erik Corcoran

The University of Maine at Farmington men's soccer squad battled with Lyndon State College to a 0-0 tie in North Atlantic Conference action this afternoon.

The Beavers (6-4-1 overall, 3-1-1 in the NAC) are scheduled to visit the University of Southern Maine Wednesday for a non-conference contest in Gorham. The Hornets stand at 3-8-3 (0-3-1).

Both squads created several solid scoring opportunities in regulation and overtime, but Beavers’ goalkeeper Erik Corcoran (Gorham, NH) and Hornets’ netminder Ian Oliver proved to be equal to the task.

Corcoran made four saves to earn the shutout, and Oliver stopped 12 shots in the 110-minute marathon. Farmington held a 23-15 advantage in shots on goals and collected seven corner kicks to LSC’s two.
