Beavers Fall 3-1 In Exhibition Match

The Universite du Quebec a Trios-Riveres took an early lead, scoring 20 minutes into Sunday's exhibition match against UMF Men’s Soccer and immediately followed it up with another shot to kick-start their 3-1 rout of the Beavers. Senior Ryan Hersey was in the net. UMF’s lone goal came from senior Brian Mawhinney who scored on an unassisted buzzer-beater as the clock drained in the first half.

 The Beavers came out fighting after half time, tightening up their defense and stepping up the offensive intensity, but the Canadians broke through the dam scoring off sophomore keeper Seabren Reeves. Goalie Noah Peet and the Beavers defense went on lockdown to hold off any more scoring in the second, but the offense was unable to power through their opponents defensive security team.

 UMF Men’s Soccer will take to the field again to open regular season conference play next Saturday when they visit Vermont to challenge the College of St. Joseph’s.
