STANDISH --The University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country team placed fourth at the Runnin' Monks Invitational today at St. Joseph's College.
Johnson & Wales University won the competition with 29 points followed by Lyndon State College (56), Maine Maritime Academy (84), Farmington (96), Lasell College (110), St. Joseph's (172), Daniel Webster College (189) and Thomas College (206)
Cam Betts (Gray, ME) came in eighth place to lead the Beavers. The sophomore toured the 8K course in 29:10, while teammate Kel Cenga (Brewster, MA) also got into the top 10 at 29:25. Jeremiah Roper (Bangor, ME) in 20th at 30:13, Cam Fecteau (Gorham, ME) in 26th at 31:01 and and Jacob Gomberg (Winthrop, ME) in 32nd at 32:26 completed Farmington's scoring.
Greg Redfield was the individual champ at 27:29.
Farmington is slated to compete at the State of Maine Championships at Colby College next weekend.
