Tanguay named to All-NAC First Team
University of Maine at Farmington junior center Josh Tanguay (Gorham, ME) was named to the All-North Atlantic Conference First Team for men's basketball as postseason honors were announced by the conference today.
NAC all-conference selections are determined by a vote of conference coaches. Additional players honored are due to ties in the voting. Conference statistics were used in the voting process.
Tanguay was joined by teammate Eric Taylor (Oakland, ME) among the honorees. Taylor, a sophomore forward, was named to the NAC Honorable Mention. Farmington was also honored with the Team Sportsmanship Award.
Tanguay averaged 15.2 points per game and 10.9 rebounds per game in NAC contests and was tops in the conference in field-goal percentage (.682). He was also among the league leaders in blocks and offensive rebounds. Tanguay was joined on the All-NAC First Team by Husson's Brock Bradford, Thomas' Andrew Duncanson, Lyndon State's Brad Durr and Husson's Matt MacKenzie.
Taylor averaged 14.9 points and 9.9 boards per contest in the NAC.
Thomas swept the top three awards as Duncanson was honored as the NAC Player of the Year, Shawn Rodgers was named the NAC Rookie of the Year and TJ Maines was the recipient of the NAC Coach of the Year.
The Beavers (13-11) are scheduled to play Husson University in the NAC semifinals on Friday at 8 p.m. at Thomas.
