NEWRY -- The University of Maine at Farmingtom golf team hosted the UMF Invitational today at Sunday River Golf Club with eight teams competing.

Husson University won the competition at 322 and boasted the top medalist Matt Loubier at 78. The University of Southern Maine (331) and Farmington (334) rounded out the top three with Thomas (346), University of New England (350), Bates (351), St. Joseph's (354) and Maine Maritime (372) completing the field.

Behind a front nine 38, Rich Matthews (Portland, ME) led the Beavers with an 80 followed by Orion Cochrane (Greenville, ME) at 82, Nick Waltz (Damariscotta, ME) at 86 and Reid Bond (Farmington, ME) at 86.

Farmington is scheduled to return to aciton on Tuesday at St. Joseph's.
