ORONO -- The University of Maine at Farmington golf team finished in second place at the Husson Invitational today at Penobscot Valley Country Club.

The host Eagles won the event with a 305 with the Beavers next closest at 324. The field was rounded out by the University of Southern Maine (333), Thomas College (349), Maine Maritime Academy (366), St. Joseph's College (368) and Eastern Maine Community College (375).

Rich Matthews (Portland, ME) led Farmington with a 77 to finish tied for fourth. Nick Waltz (Damariscotta, ME) and Orion Cochrane (Greenville, ME) each carded an 81, while Mike Lawson (Milo, ME) completed the Beavers' scoring at 85.

The Beavers are scheduled to return to Penobscot Valley for the North Atlantic Conference Championships on Sunday and Monday.
