Golf finishes eighth at Husson
ORONO -- The University of Maine at Farmington golf team finished in eighth place in the two-day Husson Invitational at the Penobscot Valley Country Club today.
Douglas Jennings (Hallowell, ME) coupled an opening-round 79 with an 80 today for a 159 to lead the Beavers, who are scheduled to return to action this weekend at the North Atlantic Conference Championships at Rutland Country Club. Jennings was followed by Reid Bond (Farmington, ME) at 162 (83-79), Andy Farrell (Stanton, MI) at 173 (90-83), Steve Flowers (Benton, ME) at 175 (88-87) and Nick Waltz (Damariscotta, ME) at 181 (93-88).
Husson University Green won the event with a 597 with Tufts University (632), Husson University White (639), Massachusetts College of the Liberal Arts (648), Bowdoin College (650), University of Southern Maine (661), St. Joseph's College (664), the Beavers (669), Thomas College (687) and Maine Maritime Academy (712) rounding out the tournament field.
