Men's golf ninth at Bowdoin Invitational
BRUNSWICK -- After a pair of postponements, the University of Maine at Farmington golf team finally opened its season this weekend with a ninth-place finish at the Bowdoin Invitational at the Brunswick Golf Club.
Husson University won the event with a two-day total of 599 followed by St. Anselm at 614 and Brandeis at 634. The Beavers turned in a 680.
The Beavers' trio of Steve Flowers (Benton, ME), Reid Bond (Farmington, ME) and Douglas Jennings (Hallowell, ME) each carded a 170. Richard Matthews (South Portland, ME) finished at 177 and Nick Waltz (Damariscotta, ME) was at 179.
The top finisher was Brandeis' Lee Bloom at 145.
