Baseball players receive NAC honors

Tyler Hanson
Corey Provencher
Phineas Peake

The University of Maine at Farmington baseball team had three players named to the All-North Atlantic Conference teams announced by the NAC today.

Junior catcher Tyler Hanson (Sanford, ME) was selected for the All-NAC Second Team, while senior shortstop Corey Provencher (Rumford, ME) and sophomore centerfielder Phineas Peake (Penobscot, ME) were NAC Honorable Mention choices.

NAC all-conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches. Statistics in all games played were used in the voting process.

Hanson, one of the squad's two captains, batted .337 with five doubles, a home run and 15 RBI.

Provencher, an All-NAC Second Team choice in 2007, hit .329 with five doubles, a triple, a home run, 13 RBI and 11 stolen bases.

Peake averaged .298 with four doubles. He swiped 13 bases.

The Beavers finished their season at 5-22.
