Four baseball players earn NAC honors
Four University of Maine at Farmington baseball players were honored on the All-North Atlantic Conference Second Team as announced by the conference today.
The four Farmington players honored were seniors infielder Pat Howell (Nobleboro, ME) and pitcher Craig Pendleton (Saco, ME) and juniors centerfielder Phineas Peake (Penobscot, ME) and second baseman Kyle Shea (Bar Harbor, ME).
Howell batted .280 (14-50) with four doubles, a triple, two home runs and eight RBI in 14 conference games.
Pendleton went 1-2 in NAC action with a 3.93 earned-run average with 17 strikeouts over 18.1 innings pitched. The senior held batters to a .256 average.
Peake, a NAC Honorable Mention choice last season, hit .404 (23-57) with two doubles and nine RBI in 16 NAC games. With a team-best .438 on-base percentage in NAC action, the junior scored 16 runs and was 12 for 12 in stolen base attempts.
Shea batted .313 (15-48) in NAC play with four doubles and 10 RBI in 16 games.
