Women's soccer tops Wheelock, ends skid

BOSTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer team halted a five-game skid today as the Beavers bested Wheelock College 4-0 in non-conference action this afternoon.

Katie Cray (Richmond, ME) netted a pair of goals for the Beavers (3-5), who are scheduled to return to action Wednesday when travel to Bowdoin College. The Wildcats slipped to 0-6.

Alida Peake (Penobscot, ME) and Leigh Ronald (Farmington, ME) each netted a goal for the Beavers, who held a 17-4 command in shots.

McKell Barnes (Durham, ME) worked the opening half in goal for Farmington with three saves. Ashley Holshouser (Berwick, ME) and Deanna Vigliotta (Wells, ME) split the second half to preserve the shutout.
