Women's soccer cruises by Johnson State
FARMINGTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer team rolled to an 8-0 win over Johnson State College in North Atlantic Conference action at Prescott Field.
The Beavers improved to 5-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play with Lyndon State College at home today at noon. The Badgers dropped to 3-8-1 (0-4).
Chelsea Norton (Westbrook, ME) collected a pair of goals for Farmington with Amber Murphy (Manchester, NH) chipping in a goal and two assists and Eryn Neptune (Readfield, ME) and Julie Walters (Wells, ME) each scored a goal and assisted on another.
Mckell Barnes (Durham, ME) needed to make only one save in the victory as the Beavers controlled the shot advantage 33-1 and took seven corner kicks to zero for Johnson State.
Elizabeth Wallace stopped six shots for the Badgers.
