Mrazik receives NAC weekly honors

FARMINGTON -- University of Maine at Farmington sophomore forward Jackie Mrazik (Mount Vernon, ME) was named the North Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week as announced by the conference Monday.

Mrazik helped the Beavers in a pair of wins as UMF extended its win streak to 10 games. Mrazik scored on a 25-yard strike 1:17 into overtime to lift UMF to a 2-1 win over visiting UMaine-Fort Kent on Sunday and set up Amber Murphy (Manchester, NH) on the game-winning goal in a 2-1 decision against NAC foe Husson on Wednesday.

For the season, Mrazik is among the leaders on the Beavers in several scoring categories. She is tied for second in goals with seven, is second in points with 15 and is tied for the lead in game-winning goals with four.

This is the second straight week that a UMF player was honored with the award. Last week, senior netminder Kerry Kowalczyk (Topsham, ME) was named the NAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

The Beavers (11-3, 8-0) are scheduled to visit Lyndon State College on Wednesday for a 1 p.m. match.
