The University of Maine at Farmington men’s and women’s cross
country teams claimed their respective North Atlantic Conference
titles under rainy skies on Saturday
at Mt. Blue High School.
On the women’s
side, the Beavers – winners
of the NAC title in 2004 and 2005 --
scored 27 points to get by Castleton (41), Lesley (70), Johnson
State College (100) and Bay Path (140).
Farmington’s
Emily Farley (Mount Desert Island, ME) raced to her
second straight NAC individual title with a time of 21:03.15.
The Beavers also claimed second and third with Amanda Gunter
of Farmington, ME, (21:13.83) and Lyn Plog of Avon, ME,
(21:49.21) following Farley. Castleton’s Justine Campbell
(21:58.84) and Katie Snyder (22:25.92) rounded out the top five.
Amy Siebert (Waterville, ME)
at eighth in 22:39.23 and
Michelle Dubocq (Oakland, ME) at 14th in 23:32.54
completed the Beavers' scoring.
