DARTMOUTH, Mass. --The University of Maine at Farmington women's cross country team placed 21st today at the UMass-Dartmouth Shriners Invitational.
MIT won the competition with 60 points followed by Brandeis (75), Keene State (115), Stonehill (158) and Adelphi (168) in the top five. The Beavers scored 654 points to finish in the middle of the 42-team field. Results
The Beavers' top five runners finished within 21 seconds of each other. Melani St. Pierre (Charlestown, NH) placed 118th to lead Farmington with a time of 20:43 on the 5K course. Emily Farley (Bernard, ME) at 128th in 20:49, Salena Sykes (Island Pond, VT) at 137th in 20:59, Caitlin Miller (Pepperell, MA) at 139th at 21:00 and Molly Carl (York, ME) at 142nd in 21:04 completed the Beavers' scoring.
In the sub-varsity race, Farmington finished 13th out of 21 squads with 410 points. MIT won the event with 15 points. Results
Monique Trundy (Lincolnville, ME) was the Beavers' top runner at 101st in 23:05.
Farmington is scheduled to host the UMF Invitational next Saturday at Mt. Blue High School.
