Women's cross country places fourth
BIDDEFORD -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's cross country team placed fourth today in its season-opening competition at the University of New England Invitational.
The University of Southern Maine won the event with 28 points followed by UNE (57), Endicott (63) and Farmington (66). Daniel Webster and Maine Maritime Academy also had runners competing.
Melani St. Pierre (Charlestown, NH) and Emily Farley (Bernard, ME) each cracked the top 10 for the Beavers on the 5,000-meter course with St. Pierre finishing sixth in 21:42 and Farley at eighth in 22:04. Amanda Gunter (Farmington, ME) came in 13th at 23:00 with Emily Weston (Rumford, ME) in 19th at 23:20 and Lyn Plog (Avon, ME) in 23rd at 23:48 closing out the team scoring. Full results
Farmington is scheduled to return to action next weekend at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
