Women's cross country places 22nd at New Englands
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's cross country team completed its season today with a 22nd-place finish at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships at Williams College.
Middlebury (57 points) outlasted Williams (82) to win the 49-team event, while the Beavers totaled 655 points.
Melani St. Pierre (Charlestown, NH) led the Beavers with a 61st-place finish in 24:40.1 on the 6,000-meter course. St. Pierre was followed by Emily Farley (Bernard, ME) at 119th in 25:49.5, Emily Weston (Rumford, ME) at 132nd in 26:11.8, Lyn Plog (Avon, ME) at 166th in 26:48.6 and Meaghan Champagne (Littleton, NH) at 178th in 27:10.1 to round out Farmington's scoring. Becky Cunningham (Eliot, ME) at 209th in 27:52.2 and at 234th in 28:43.5 also competed.
Elise Topiano of Amherst won the event in 21:49.3
