Women's cross country hosts invitational
FARMINGTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's cross country team hosted the UMF Invitational at Mt. Blue High School on Saturday with Bowdoin College winning the event.
The Polar Bears accumulated 22 points followed by the University of Southern Maine (50 points) and the Beavers (62 points).
UMF's Emily Farley (Mount Desert Island, ME) ran to a fourth-place finish in 21:15 on the 5,000-meter course. Lyn Plog (Avon, ME) in 12th, Amanda Gunter (Farmington, ME) in 14th, Amy Siebert (Waterville, ME) in 16th, Liela Banks (Swans Island, ME) in 18th, Emily Weston (Rumford, ME) in 19th and Michelle Dubocq (Oakland, ME) in 25th completed the Beavers' scoring.
Bowdoin's Laura Onderko won the race with a time of 21:00.
The Beavers are scheduled to compete at St. Joseph's on Oct. 6.
