Cross country teams place fifth at States
NEW GLOUCESTER -- The University of Maine at Farmington men's and women's cross country teams each ran to a fifth-place finish at their respective races at the State of Maine Championships at Pineland Farms on Saturday.
The Bowdoin College women were victorious at 26 points followed by Colby College (38), Bates College (70), Southern Maine (151), UMF (163), University of New England (178), St. Joseph's (178) and UMaine-Presque Isle (215).
Emily Farley (Mount Desert Island, ME) led the Beavers in 29th place at 20:31 over the 5,000-meter course. Amanda Gunter (Farmington, ME) at 49th, Lyn Plog (Avon, ME) at 56th, Emily Weston (Rumford, ME) at 74th at Michelle Dubocq (Oakland, ME) at 79 finished off the UMF scoring.
The Beavers are scheduled to co-host and compete at the North Atlantic Conference Championships. The championships are for Oct. 27 at Mt. Blue High School.
