Cross country teams win at St. Joseph's
STANDISH -- The University of Maine at Farmington men's and women's cross country teams both won their respective Runnin' Monks Invitational races at St. Joseph's College on Saturday.
The UMF women scored 54 points to hold off Emmanuel (69) and St. Joseph's (69) followed by UMaine-Presque Isle (93), Lasell (98) and Lyndon State (119).
Emily Farley (Mount Desert Island, ME) paced the Beavers with a third-place finish with a time of 21:07 over the 5,000-meter course. Amanda Gunter (Farmington, ME) also cracked the top 10 in eighth at 22:12. Other scorers for UMF were Lyn Plog (Avon, ME) at 11th, Amy Siebert (Waterville, ME) at 14th and Emily Weston (Rumford, ME) at 17th.
Also competing for the Beavers were Michelle Dubocq (Oakland, ME) at 18th, Meaghan Champagne (Littleton, NH) at 22nd, Liela Banks (Swans Island, ME) at 23rd, Becky Cunningham (Eliot, ME) at 27th, Michaela Hitchcock (Springfield, VT) at 28th, Ashley Mace (York, ME) at 32nd, Jennifer Jackson (Enfield, CT) at 38th, Kathy Collins-Faunce (Wilton, ME) at 44th, Emily Foster (York, ME) at 45th, Ariana Thibault (Hinesburg, VT) at 52nd and Kendra Pouliot (East Waterboro, ME) at 53rd.
The Beavers are scheduled to compete at the State of Maine Championships at Pineland Farm in New Gloucester this coming Saturday.
