Farley earns third straight NAC honor

FARMINGTON --  Sophomore Emily Farley (Mount Desert Island, ME) was named the North Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the fourth time this season and third week in a row as announced by the conference on Monday.

Farley helped the Beavers to a fifth-place finish at the State of Maine Championships on Saturday at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester by placing 29th in the 5K race. Farley was the first non-NESCAC runner to come across the finish line with a time of 20:31

Last week, Farley led UMF to a team win at the St. Joseph's College Runnin' Monks Invitational on Saturday. Farley came in third at the 5,000-meter competition.

As a freshman, Farley was honored as the NAC Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week three times.

The Beavers are scheduled to co-host and compete in the North Atlantic Conference Championships at Mt. Blue High School on Oct. 27.
