Farley nabs NAC weekly honors
FARMINGTON -- Sophomore Emily Farley (Mount Desert Island, ME) was named the North Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the third time this season as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Farley led UMF to a team win at the St. Joseph's College Runnin' Monks Invitational on Saturday. Farley came in third at the 5,000-meter competition.
In the week prior, Farley ran to a fourth-place finish at the UMF Invitational at Mt. Blue High School on Saturday. Farley toured the hilly trail in 21:15. It is the second time this season Farley earned NAC Runner of the Week status.
On Sept. 10 Farley recorded a fourth-place finish in the 110-runner field at the University of New England Invitational on Saturday.
As a freshman, Farley was honored as the NAC Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week three times.
The Beavers are scheduled to compete in the State of Maine Championships at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester on Saturday. The men race at 11 a.m. with the women at noon.
