The University of Maine at Farmington women's basketball team fell short at Plymouth State University this afternoon as the Beavers suffered an 80-72 overtime setback in non-conference action.
Farmington slipped to 3-8 with a trip to Maine Maritime Academy scheduled for Tuesday. The Panthers improved to 8-3.

Farmington led by as many as 10 points in the opening half and carried a 36-30 lead at intermission, but the Panthers regained the lead at 52-50 seven minutes into the second frame. Plymouth State held a 65-59 lead with 6:09 remaining in regulation, but the Beavers trudged back into the contest with a Laflin jumper at 2:52 for the game's 10th tie at 65-65. A Busque layup at 2:02 gave the Beavers a 67-65 edge, but Farmington could not expand the advantage and a Kayla Morin basket with 55 seconds left tied the game at 67-67.
The overtime session see-sawed over the first 1:56 with the Beavers clinging to a 72-69 lead. The Panthers closed out the period with an 11-0 run -- including five of six from the foul line -- to send Farmington to a fifth straight loss with an 80-72 defeat.
