Porter named to NEWBA Honor Roll
SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- University of Maine at Farmington senior guard Erin Porter (Bangor, ME) was announced today as a member of the New England Women's Basketball Association Honor Roll for her efforts last week.
Porter helped the Beavers to a perfect 3-0 week, collecting a pair of double-doubles in the process. The guard tallied 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 67-54 victory over Lyndon State College on Friday. She followed that with an 18-point, 11-board performance in Farmington's 71-60 win over Johnson State College the following day. She was a perfect 19-of-19 from the free throw line during the weekend.
Porter is the second Farmington player to earn NEWBA honors. Junior forward Caitlyn Laflin (Farmingdale, ME) was twice honored on the NEWBA Honor Roll.
The Beavers (15-10 overall, 12-2 in the NAC) are seeded second in the NAC tournament and await the winner of Johnson State/Castleton in the semifinals. The Beavers' semifinal matchup is scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday at top-ranked Husson University.
