Laflin honored by the NAC

FARMINGTON -- University of Maine at Farmington junior forward Caitlyn Laflin (Farmingdale, ME) was recognized as the North Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season as announced by the conference today.

Laflin led the Beavers to a pair of NAC road wins this week with 20 points, nine rebounds and four steals in a 59-56 victory at MMA and 31 points and 14 boards in an 82-70 decision at Thomas. During the week, Laflin averaged 25.5 points and 11.5 rebounds while converting 16 of 35 field goals and 17 of 18 free throws.

Laflin was also the weekly award recipient on Dec. 15 and Jan. 5. Honored as the NAC Player of the Year last season, this is the seventh time in her career that Laflin has been recognized by the conference for her weekly efforts.

The Beavers (5-8 overall, 3-0 in the NAC) are scheduled to visit Husson University on Tuesday with the women's game at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men's.
