Women's basketball gets by Lyndon State
LYNDONVILLE, Vt. -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's basketball team set down Lyndon State College 67-54 in North Atlantic Conference action tonight.
Farmington ran its record to 14-10 on the season, including an 11-2 mark in the NAC. The Beavers are slated to end their regular season with a trip to Johnson State College (men at 2 p.m., women to follow). The Hornets dropped to 8-15 (4-9).
Ashley Busque (Belgrade, ME) scored 23 points, including a three-for-four effort from 3-point range, with five rebounds in the victory. Erin Porter (Bangor, ME) tallied 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds with Caitlyn Laflin (Farmingdale, ME) adding 13 points and 11 boards.
The Beavers connected on all 19 of their free-throw attempts, including a 12-for-12 performance by Porter.
After holding a three-point edge at intermission, Farmington outscored the hosts 37-27 in the second half to pull away for the win.
