Jenna Richardson
Women's Cross Country Head Coach
Jenna Richardson is entering her second year coaching at the University
of Maine at Farmington. Jenna is a recent graduate of Brown University
where she received a degree in Environmental Science. When Jenna isn't out
on Maine lakes monitoring the water quality, she most likely can be found
running, gardening or adventuring with fiancée, Sam Krajewski. Jenna has
been a runner since high school, where she ran for
Waterville High. She continued her running at Brown University, where she
became an All-Ivy League competitor in the 5k and 10k during track and
field, and helped Brown to the Division I NCAA XC meet her Sophomore,
Junior and Senior years. The highlight being a 9th place team finish in
1999.
Now out of college, Jenna still enjoys competitive running. She has moved
up to the marathon distance. She ran her first marathon in June 2003 in
2hours and 49 minutes. Since then she has also run the Chicago marathon.
Part of Jenna's love for the sport comes from sharing it with others. She
is excited to lead and coach for the UMF women harriers again this year.
Although the team was small in 2003, Jenna helped each athlete to steady
improvement throughout the season, capped by a great showing at the NAC
conference meet.
