Cyndi Pratt

Field Hockey Head Coach
Assistant Athletics Director

A former standout field hockey player at the University of New Hampshire and a product of Mt. Blue High School, Cynthia Pratt recently completed her third season as the head field hockey coach at UMaine-Farmington and guided the team to yet another outstanding campaign.

Pratt was elevated to the position of head coach following seven years as a UMF assistant, replacing long-time coach Elizabeth Yeaton (Beth) Evans.  In her first season as head coach, Pratt guided the Beavers to the 2004 and 2006 NAC Tournament Championship, the sixth in an eight-year span) and the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III National Tournament.  In 2005, Pratt led UMF to the NAC Tournament finals and an 11-6 record, running her career mark to 21.

Pratt also serves as an assistant athletics director with numerous administrative and coordinator responsibilities. As part of the Life Skills program, she will coordinate the student-athletes' involvement in community service projects as well as the NCAA Choices Grant awarded for campus alcohol prevention and educational programming.

Prior to becoming the assistant AD and head coach, Pratt was an elementary physical education teacher in Skowhegan, and had also served as the department head in previous years. Her coaching experience includes several years as assistant field hockey coach and two years as assistant women’s basketball coach at UMF, a graduate assistant field hockey coach at UNH, and a variety of coaching positions with Skowhegan Area High School.

Pratt received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from UNH. She currently resides in New Sharon with her husband, Scott, and their two sons.

Coach Pratt can be reached by email at cynthia.pratt@maine.edu or by phone at 207 778-7140.
